Three Southwest Florida competitions a season, plus the optional local ones, and a commitment that runs all the way to recital.
How auditions actually run
Auditions are held twice a year, at the end of spring and at the end of summer. Dancers selected represent the team for the following school year, and they are committed through that season’s recital rather than term by term.
Two audition windows a year means a dancer who is not ready in spring is not waiting a full year for the next door, which matters more than it sounds when a child is nine.
What a competition season commits you to
Company 8 dancers travel around Southwest Florida to three competitions every season, plus additional optional local competitions. The commitment runs to that season’s recital, so it is a year-shaped decision, not a month-shaped one.
What the team has actually won
The studio publishes these as a body of work rather than a leaderboard, and they are reproduced that way here. Many of the trophies and plaques are on display at the studio, in the hallway you walk down on the way to the rooms.

What to bring to an audition
- Clothes that are easy to move in
- All your dance shoes, not just the pair for your main style
- A water bottle
Bringing every pair of shoes is the part families forget. Auditions look across styles, so a dancer who only brought ballet shoes has narrowed their own audition before it starts.
